Thin4Life - Week of Mar 19/07
:D Happy Monday, everyone! It's pretty here although a little cool. I had a good weekend. Saw a play "Chorus Line" with a very young cast and they kicked butt. Golfed with DH and got rained out after 6 holes. We were drenched to the skin. :p DH was having his best game, too.
Went to dinner with friends on Saturday. It was quite good and I ordered a shrimp and scallop dish with steamed broccoli, so I think I did all right points-wise. WI is today (keep your fingers crossed); I hope the losses you had last week will rub off on me. :) Had two performances of the Women in History show. They went well. Pam, I heard you had a terrible storm there. Hope you are well. How is everyone else? |
I think the northeast pretty much got hit with that storm--we had over 9" of snow Friday/Saturday so we were digging out on Saturday morning. The drive home from WW on Friday was slippery; DH and I decided to cancel our dinner out so instead we had grilled cheese with tuna and tomato soup. It was fine.
Saturday we had our staff meeting and it went really well. The interim territory manager was there and I liked her--she was very dynamic and just what our area needs (in my opinion). Worked yesterday morning and then did some shopping--found a new spring coat in a lovely periwinkle shade. Lisa: Good luck with your WI! :goodvibes |
The good vibes worked--down 1#. I was thrilled as it has been a struggle the last couple weeks and I wanted to be down for my trip to London and Rome.:carrot:
Sorry about all of the snow. I can't believe how late it is in the year. Isn't it supposed to be spring? :?: |
Congratulations, Lisa!!! We can have snow all the way through April--a few years back we had 14" dumped on us over a weekend. The latest snowfall here was May 7th and that was back in 1989. I remember it because I was in Florida visiting my girlfriend and I called home and DH said there was snow! So, we're not out of the woods yet.
It supposed to be sunny here this afternoon but still cold (30's) tomorrow is looking more promising with temps near 50. More later... |
Hi everyone. We got a bit of that storm on Friday/Saturday - mostly freezing rain which made things interesting on Saturday morning...
I had a busy weekend. Date on Friday (it went well), out for St. Paddy's Day on Saturday, struggled but managed a 10K run Sunday morning (it was really windy), babysat most of Sunday afternoon then took in a movie on Sunday evening. We saw I Think I Love My Wife. Don't even think about wasting one penny on this movie; I only saw it because my friend is still learning English and I didn't want her to be discouraged so chose a no-brainer. This one fit the bill; the F-word was used in almost every sentence. She understands that one, unfortunately. We're winding things down here in the office. I've had one conversation regarding a job possibility but it doesn't excite me - somewhere I worked in the past. Have the t-shirt, if you get my drift. Re Friday nite's date. He seems like a good guy, and I find myself attracted to him, but I can't get a sense at all as to whether he feels the same way or sees this as a friendship. It's rather strange, but I'm not losing sleep over it... I'll try to check in later. I have an appointment outside the office. Susan |
Forgot to congratulate Lisa on the loss. I'm doing a little better with the nighttime eating. Hope to reinforce that this week.
BTW - went for my first tanning session (in preparation for Cuba) yesterday and burned my face :( . It hurts!! S. |
Melissa and Susan, thanks for the congrats. I was thrilled.
Susan, I'm glad your date was good. Sounds like a nice man. Sorry about the burn, ouch! |
Susan, thanks for telling us about that movie. I thought I would see it--not now! Chris Rock doesn't know any other word besides the F-bomb!
|
Good morning! Happy Spring!!! Our daffodils that we ordered from the Cancer Society will be arriving today and that'll be a nice touch of Spring for the offices :) The weather is sunny, for the time being, but it's still pretty cool (33). Tomorrow is supposed to be around 60. The roller coaster of temps is normal for us. I'm hoping for some nice weather so I can get outside and walk more.
Susan: I'm not crazy about movies that drop the "f-bomb" every other word--is it really necessary?? Sounds like the date went well. I used to go tanning before I went to Florida but haven't done that in a long time. Now I just take some extra strength sunscreen so I don't burn. Lisa: I talked to my GF this morning and she's mapping out tearooms for us--I'm looking forward to visiting some new places. I told her my only request is that we get out for grouper! I wish we could get it up here. Lala: Hope everything is going okay with you! My daffodils are up and the buds are visible--I just love Spring flowers! I have a few crocuses that have already started to bloom, if we get a string of nice days I'm sure I'll be seeing more. Pam: Did you get hit bad with the storm this past weekend? We still have quite a bit of snow but hopefully with the warmer temps it'll melt. Hi to Karynlee! |
I leave for London tomorrow. I'm so excited and can't focus on work.
Melissa, your trip to Florida should be fun. I'm with you on grouper--one of my favorite fish. When I lived up north, I loved seeing the daffodils. They're happy flowers. Last week at the grocery store there were bunches of tulips, so I bought some. They lasted a few days and were so pretty. |
Hi ladies,
Lisa have a nice time in London and Rome! Melissa yes we got hit pretty bad, a little over a foot of snow fell last Friday. I also love it when the daffodils arrive even though they make me sneeze! Susan glad you enjoyed your date. I don't think I'll be going to that movie...I don't care for Chris Rock. DH and I are going to see Wild Hogs this weekend..it looks kind of cute even though the reviews were pretty negative. I really like William Macy. The weekend consisted of a lot of shoveling and a little partying for both St Paddy's day and my B-day so all in all not too bad. Still very busy at work, my bosses mother is very ill so he's been out a lot lately which means a lot of extra "stuff" coming my way. Hope to catch up more tomorrow! |
Lisa: My mind wouldn't be on work either! Have a great time in London! I loved it and enjoyed seeing all the history.
Went to my meeting at noon and was up 1.8# but that's hormonal since TOM is due next Wednesday; it's not a surprise. This week I'm going to work on watching the sodium and get lots more water in! When we had our staff meeting on Saturday and we had gotten weighed in my weight was up 5#...it was SO hard to focus from that point on. It's funny how the number on the scale affects us. I tried to block it out but it was back there and it infiltrated my choices on more than one occasion. A new week begins and with it new resolve :) |
Pam, sorry about the snow. Happy Belated Birthday, too.
Melissa, ooh, a gain; you're right, it's TOM. |
Lisa: Have a wonderful trip!
Melissa: Perfectly normal to gain at this point in the cycle - it will be gone before you know it. Pam: Belated Happy Birthday. I didn't know much about Chris Rock before I saw this movie. I can guarantee I won't be seeing anymore of his... Hi lala, Karynlee. I had an interview of sorts this morning and am now considering whether I should take the plunge or not. As I said, it's with an organization that I worked for almost 10 years ago...just don't know if I can/want to do that again. Then again, a bird in the hand... Argghhh. Susan |
Susan, I know how you feel re: the job interview. If the job's bearable, go for it and you can keep looking. ; ) Sometimes you just feel like you're going backwards.
