Week One - Day 3 - Can't Eat All my Points

Hi Everyone,

It's Day 3 of Week One and I'm finding I'm having trouble eating all my points which are 29.

I'll list today's menu and if any of you can see something that is wildly out of whack for point value please let me know. My big challenge today is work....I work in a hospital and patients are always bringing stuff in......that will be the test of all time for me. In a previous post I said that I'd have trouble with the water but I have left a small glass in the bathroom and everytime I go, I refill....it's about 6 oz.......slow but sure start.

Okay here's my menu for today

1 Yves Veggie Patty-1 point
1 Whole wheat English Muffin - 2 points
1 Laughing Cow Wedge - 1 point
1 orange - 1 point

Breakfast total = 5 points

1 cup cottage cheese - 4 points
1 cup peaches - 2 points
1 tbs. sunflower seeds - 1 point
3 Light Wasa crackers - 1 point

Lunch total = 8 points

1 cola chicken breast - 4 points
1 salad - 0 points
1 tbs. dressing - 2 points
1 orange - 1 point
1 Weight Watcher Cake - 1 point

Dinner total = 8 points

1/2 cup non fat plain yogourt - 1 point
1/2 cup frozen blueberries - .5 point
1 tbs. granola - 2 points

Snack total = 3.5

This according to my calculations leaves with me 4.5 points to use up. ????

Also I've been poring over the Wendie Plan and I really think it has it's merits, but I've decided to stick to the original WW Plan for now and see if anything in the way of pounds move.

Also does anyone know if exercise counts for points during the 1st week???

Enjoy the day, hope all is well for everyone.
Talk later........
 :flow1:

why not use a full serving of dressing? or how bout adding things to salad like fruit, nuts or cheese?

Great idea....thanks......that will help. How is your WW going?

I find cheese is a really useful thing to add! And I also like banana's becuase they are 1-2.5 points depending on size, and i find that they fill me up quite well.

For breakfast i love having banana on toast...
I have:
2 slices multigrain toast - 2pts (1 pt each)
1 medium banana - 1.5pts
canola spread (1tsp) 1pt

I find that keeps me full until close enough to lunch time. I usually have a yoghurt too

I also had trouble during those first couple weeks getting all my points in. Some 3FC member and some of the members at the WW meetings I go to suggested several things:

~ Use light dressing rather than FF
~ Add cheese! Whether on a sandwich, salad or alone, add cheese!
~ Don't forget to get your healthy oils in, and add the points for them.
~ If it's the end of the day and you haven't used all your points, finish your day with a glass of milk to use up the last of your points. I probably had 3 weeks straight where I drank a glass of milk with chocolate syrup in it every night before bed.

Hang in there, it does get easier! Also, do make sure you use all your points. I'm sure you've heard this already, but not using them all can slow your weight loss down rather than speed it up. Good luck!
