Shockingp, good for you - sounds like quite the addiction and one that is hard to avoid! I think there are many foods that some people must avoid having in the house. I always have a tought time with French or Italian Bread, which I would eat with butter/margarine and no sugar. I seldom buy it as I just have to have 2 or 3 big slices.
Also, T, glad you got your doctor's approval for that weight. It sounds awful low for your height.
Last time (I'm 5'2") I was in that range was right after I graduated from high school and after more than 30 years and two kids, I could never hope of reaching 107 and I think I'd have to be very ill if I got that low. I'm going to be content with the top of my range!

Tristesse, I am glad that you talked to your doctor. that is the most important thing. I just hate those chart things with the target weight range. I personally plan on hanging onto my curves for dear life. I am a little person, but I still wanna be a little person with boobs and a butt and hips and stuff. The rolls, however, I can do without. And the backfat.

Curves are nice. I am reminded that Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and look at her enduring popularity. Hardly any other woman in history has endured through time as a "pin up girl". She was so timeless, a shame she died so young.
No one ever accused her of being "fat" yet now our society holds near starvation models who collapse on runways of starvation and anorexia as their role models. We must keep in mind that we have to always consult our doctors and feel good about ourselves!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Had to come here and report my NSV!

So I have been doing pilates lately, and there is one movement where you rely solely on your abs to pull you up to a seated position. I haven't been able to do it yet without holding onto my legs to do it. I just took a little yoga break in my office, and I did it without thinking about it! Yay!!!!!!! I am getting stronger! Wooo!

I don't want to lose my curves either and I don't think I will, I just want a little less of them and firmer. I actually like my curves when they are in the right place and shape. Size 14.....I could live with that in a blink of an eye!

Bread......my complete weekness along with cheese.......and not just the white stuff either, high fibre.......etc......etc.......I have been living on whole wheat english muffins (2 points) and WASA crackers since starting. One day in the future I will splurge with some of it with some brie cheese............bliss!!! For now WASA and Laughing Cow.......not so bad, fills the void, but not quite as decadent!!!

NSV for Tuesday. Okay I almost did it all. I managed 5 1/2 12 oz glasses of water today mostly at work. Before WW the only water I had was brushing my teeth. I used to drink 1 coffee per day, maybe 1/2 can of diet soda and that would be pretty much the fluid intake. Other than that the week is going fine, but I get the feeling I may be eating too many rice cakes. 8 minis = 1 pt. correct???? Gotta go.......congrats on everyone's NSV's today, especially the loose or non fitting clothes...gotta love that!!!

derrydaughter 03-21-2007 07:19 AM

INT and wannabe, great NSVs!
By the way, when I was having trouble getting in all my waters, I used to measure out one big container per day and keep it in my refrigerator. I knew where I stood and tried to always use that container when I was having a drink.
For me, water is the beverage of choice with my meals and I do drink allot of it all the time, so it's never been an issue for me.

I wore yet another pair of older jeans that I've not fit in to for about two years yesterday and I wore the ALL DAY with no discomfort! Wow, the "no discomfort" part of it is truly impressive.
I'm still waiting for someone to say to me something like "You look good, you've lost weight, haven't you?". Gosh, it takes time for that, I guess?
Let's remember to remark on the positives to others who have done something good for themselves and take note of it verbally. It does wonders for the person's self esteem. Sure wish someone would say something!
