Just a quick post to say that today has been just "OK". I went to a meeting and there were homemade cookies and brownies. I gave in, and today was only day 2 of my recommitment. However, I did journal it all and count the flex points. I modified my eating plan for the rest of the day to help out in dealing with it all, a bit.
I have to learn that one bump in the road is not the end of the road.
Nibs, my mom's family came from Newfoundland, and I have been to Bonavista. Are you anywhere near there?
Linda

hi dd!:)

dont worry im sure it wasnt that bad. i mean id say worse case scenerio is having eaten 1 cookie and 1 brownie. i mean while not ideal its better than eating 10. thats my 'tude anyway. i have the same prob i started a journal w goals and one of em is to learn to pick up and move on asap. keep pluggin.

Andrea, you are right about one thing, the "old me" prior to WW would have eaten two brownies and about three or four cookies. I did OK.
It's awfully hard to go to meetings where there is food present.
On Monday, I have a huge workshop meeting to attend where it's a soup, salad and bread thing. People are bringing all sorts of things to eat. I'm hoping to make wise choices. I'm bringing a crock pot of soup, and will make a WW friendly soup. So, at least there will be some better choices.
Any good ideas for soups that are really worthy of a group, the kind of soup that people will definitely want the recipe for. I want that kind of soup, but it should be "kind" to our needs!
Linda

andrea and linda, none of us is ever perfect. (darn it!) sounds like you're doing pretty good.

i did stay op today. dh and i had ff pizza tonight. i added 2 pts of burger, bell pepper/onion/jalapeno/olives sauteed in oo. 7 pts for the pizza.

linda, what about a potato soup made with core ingredients? i know cream soups aren't core, but i think one made with core foods would be a good choice.

ontarget 01-03-2007 09:12 PM

 andrea, i didn't see your post when i posted about potato soup.

linda, how about a goulash made in a crockpot?

Hi guys,

Weigh in tonight was cancelled due to bad weather. I was a little bummed about it but decided that I need to get a start at this now and I can't wait until next week. I will try my best and see what I can do to lose some weight before next weigh in.

Hey andrea, looks like your way of thinking is definitely going in the right direction. Keep it up girl!

Hi derry, I live on the West coast of Newfoundland near Corner Brook. Bonavista is a few hours drive from where I'm at. Is that where your parents are from?

Anyone else struggling with the sweet monster? I did great all fall without the sweets and ate them sparingly but I'm having a dickens of a time after eating some for the holidays. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me come up with some strategies???? I'm off to my meeting for the first time in 2 weeks at noon today. I'm going to ask my leader about it.

andreaphilip3 01-04-2007 12:07 PM

hi guys!

kim gl today! you can do it! im sorry bout wi. go for it girlie!

target: thanks slowly but surely gettin ready for mon!! btw-great minds think alike:D

rosie: yes i forever struggle w that. have you tried freezing a small bag of kisses and only eating 3?

Rosegarden 01-04-2007 01:25 PM

Well I went to my meeting and lost 1 lb - I am pleased. My leader recommended that I plan my sweets and make sure that I eat them at the end of a meal. It helps with the satisfaction thing and doesn't leave you craving more if you eat them alone as a snack. Good answer and I'm going to give that a shot.

Had the Lean Cuisine Cabbage roll entree for lunch. It's pretty darn tasty for a frozen meal. Unfortunately, I will be eating a frozen meal for dinner tonight too along with homemade veggie soup for a snack if necessary. I'll save that apple for the ride home. Got half my water in for the day and don't expect to have any problems getting that in today.

How are YOU doing?

Sillymom 01-04-2007 01:44 PM

Hello,

I'm not new to the forum, but haven't been here for a while. I have just joined WW after unsuccessfully trying to do the plan on my own. I need that accountability at the scale and in the meetings. My plan is to lose 6-8 lbs by January 27th. We are going on a cruise for the first time and I want to look like I'm only 3 months pregnant not 8. LOL. It's nice to come to a place where I can joke and vent at the same time with women who understand. Sorry, men too. Are there any on here?

Today is my first day thinking about what I need to do to cut calories here and there. I want to make small doable goals. I made up little inspirational quotes with clip art and laminated them to place all around the house to help keep my eyes on my new lifestyle.

Ex. Small doable goals stick!
Think fit, not weight.
I think, therefore I am.
You are what you eat.
Smile, sad cannot live where happiness dwells.
Positive attitudes lead to positive results.
Take it slow and you'll come out on top. (Picture of a snail on the number one spot on the podium.)
You get what you give.
This is me today. (Picture of a thin woman in a space suit- Jane Jetson)
You can get a tons of quotes if you type in inspirational sayings/quotes in your web search line.

We can do this together ladies. Happy New Year!
