Talking Hello!

Hi everyone, I just thought I would jump in here. I have also decided to do the BFL Challenge in January. I feel really psyched up for it and I think it will give me the push I need to quit maintaining the weight I am at. I'm already doing pretty low carb and have cut out sugar so at least that won't be a problem. The only thing that would be a problem for me is waking up early in the morning to do the weights and exercise. I know I probably won't get as good results as I could but I plan to alternate my weight lifting with my Jazzercise classes and I do those right after work. I have already taken my swim suit pictures...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK. That was scary. I am really not in it to win anything I just want to see some good results. I also think it will help my sagging skin. I call them my wings under my arms...ugh.

So anyway, I am sending you all many holiday greetings and good healthy wishes!!

I am not sure which day will be my start day in January, but it will be before the 6th. We can do this!!!

Default You'll love..

BFL and be amazed w/ your results if you follow the book. Jump up to the main weekly thread to really get into the swing of things. Sounds as if you already have gotten a good start.

Couldn't have said it better myself...the only thing I would add is that as far as cardio - Jazzercise may not bring you up to the intensity that you need for BFL (I was an avid Jazzerciser myself in the early to mid-90's). Jazzercise is great but unless it's radically changed since 1994, you won't be hitting 9's or 10's. I'd recommend doing the 20 MAS by the book three times a week, and cutting back on Jazzercise (or taking it a bit easy).

The cardio seems to be one of the 'sticking' points for a lot of newbies on BFL, especially those who are used to doing at least an hour of cardio a day (like I was!). Sometimes it's hard to believe that only 20 minutes of cardio can be effective. Believe me, it IS, as long as you're hitting those 9's and 10's with INTENSITY. The 20 MAS is a classic example of QUALITY being more effective than QUANTITY.

But hey, if you enjoy Jazzercise, don't cut it out - many of us here do other cardio-type things - I ride Hunt Seat myself and occasionally ride my bike (been a while though) along with walking, etc. Just save the high-intensity cardio for your 20MAS.

Good luck and feel free to post here anytime!
