Default Oh. My. Goodness.

I took the routine the trainer gave me (the circuit training with light weights) and sorta did it for two weeks. I made some modifications but mostly gave it a shot. Yesterday I decided to go back and do what I had been doing on my own with the weight I had been using. I walked and did some sprinting afterward for a mile. HOLY CRAP. I can barely walk today. Seriously. When I get up out of a chair I have to hold on to something. I really can barely move. I've been this sore once and that was when I tried to squat way more than I should have done. Even then, it was just my quads that were sore. Today it's my entire lower body. I can't believe what a difference that two weeks made. It's so weird that I'm soooo sore now!!

Ah, well, the change might stimulate growth or weight loss. Sounds like you had a good workout!

I didn't respond earlier bc I was hoping someone else would and I could "get it!" I'm not sure if you're saying you had great progress bc of 2 weeks with the trainer, or bc you bagged that and went back to your own workout?? Either way, congrats! But do clarify - was it the work with the trainer that is killing you now, or going back to your own routine after 2 weeks that has really made you sore?

Going back to my own routine after two weeks is what killed me. No, I didn't have great progress with what the trainer gave me.

I find that changing routines where you've reached a plateau, after 2-3 weeks, always makes me sore...
