Webcam from the Far North!

Here you go, Mel! This morning all you'll see is WET and this early, our poor little department pickup sitting by itself. :) Anyone who's looking should remember that Alaska is 4 hours earlier than east coast of US, one hour earlier than west coast. Enjoy!

Home <3 :(

WaterRat 07-11-2008 02:07 PM

I see you're in SLC now, where are you from? The webcam is mounted on the Palmer Library. :)

Mel 07-11-2008 05:38 PM

Thanks, Pat :) Looks kind of gloomy today.

GradPhase 07-11-2008 06:01 PM

I'm in SLC for the rest of the summer, but then I fly back to Anchorage and I can't WAIT! I'm going to UAA. All of my boyfriends' family are out in the valley though, (well, he's native, so he's got some family out in the villages but we of course never see them) so we drive back out to Palmer/Wasilla every other weekend or so :)

40 days left!!

WaterRat 07-14-2008 07:09 PM

Well, enjoy the sun in SLC - there's been precious little of it here this summer!

WaterRat 01-12-2009 09:08 PM

Bumping for Mel - at least we have more than 6 hours of daylight now!

AnneWonders 01-12-2009 09:30 PM

Oh, that hurts just to look. Yikes.

I so love the Southwest!

Hey, my bro is in Anchorage--off Legacy! :) We just came your way in June.

WaterRat 01-13-2009 01:40 AM

Well, I'm about 50 miles NE of Anchorage, in Palmer.

Mel 01-13-2009 07:32 AM

Thanks, Pat. Looks just like here

kaebea 01-13-2009 09:43 AM

i'll coming to AK the begining of march!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) ;)

Zen Pharmacy 01-13-2009 10:04 AM

Oh man, thank goodness for the "warm-up".

My mother and littlest brother have been stuck in Fairbanks for 2 and a half weeks because it's been too cold to fly out to their village (out past Fort Yukon). The temps finally got into the -40s over the weekend, and so my family has just been waiting on standby.

Joys of Alaskan winter ;>

WaterRat 01-13-2009 01:53 PM

Oh yes, Zen, still very cold in the interior. We've warmed up to 10 above this morning, but windy so it still feels cold. Snow predicted as well.

Kaebea - well, it'll be nice and light, and not as cold, but we've had some pretty severe snowstorms in March in the past. What part of Alaska? If it's SE, ignore what I've just said. :)

Zen Pharmacy 01-13-2009 05:14 PM

As much as I gloat about being outside during the winter, you do (absurdly) miss it.

Christmas at positive 65 degrees is just not the same.
