Surgery date!
I haven't been around in FOREVER, but I just wanted to say that I'm having my gastric bypass (r-n-y, laparoscopic) on October 18 in South San Francisco. And lo, the panic sets in. It's funny, I've been in their programme for almost 3 years, and have gone through SO much crap with them and thought I'd never be scheduled (what with health issues and losing my first surgeon and such) and now, I get the phone call today and suddenly feel not ready. Silly. Anyway, I'll be perusing all the past messages for inspiration and such... eek!

o WOW!!!!!!!! this is wonderful news! kaiser permanente is one tough HMO to deal with - and you've outlasted them! congratulations!
so, what's at the top of your mind these days? what's scaring you the most? |
You know, it isn't the surgery itself freaking me out... it's afterwards. And it isn't "missing food" or anything, I'm just really worried that I have everything I need and take care of myself correctly, etc. The surgery itself is weird, never having had general anasthesia before, but yeah... I just want to make sure I do everything I'm supposed to and have everything. To be honest, I'm kinda freaked about making myself throw up by accident, I haaate vomiting (not like anyone likes it, but you know).
My surgeon is a total doll, though. Still young enough to be human, great "bedside" manner, very nice, funny, sense of humor, etc. I have great faith in him. :) ~ Cat |
