Lap Band Insurance question
 

Can anyone out there help me with a insurance issue. I was originally scheduled for band surgery and three days before the scheduled surgery, my surgeons office called and cancelled the procedure. Apparently, the hospital in order to get medicare reimbursement needed a Certificate of Excellance survey performed by Medicare. Has anyone had a similar problem or do they know of a hospital in Suffolk/Nassau County that accepts Medicare and performs the Lap Band procedure?

Hi. I just had my lapband surgery on Friday. I had to have a Center of Excellence too for my insurance to pay the small portion that they paid.

If I understand it correctly, this information is provided by the people who actually certify the centers, so it should be complete.
