Medicare and surgery?
 

Anyone have medicare pay for the surgery?

If so, can you tell me what you had to do to qualify?
I am on medicare. And, not sure about it.
I know they will pay now.

I'm waiting on medicare myself. From what I understand, they have to have a certificate of excellency (which I think means they have performed over x number of surgeries) or something like that. Medicare upped the qualifications and all of the bariatric surgury places have all applied for the certificate. At least this is what I have been told. I went to one seminar that is from out of Houston and they said theirs will be covered by Medicare (when they get the certificate) but not the surgeons fee which is $5800.
I'm shopping around.
