Going for the band Need Advice Ohio
 

Hello Everyone!

I just stumbled across this site today and have been reading your posts. I have been considering lap band for over a year now and am ready to do it. I hae tried to get it covered through insurance but our company changed providers so now their guidlines are longer. I am going to self pay at this point and just wonder if anyone has some suggestions on surgeons. I am in Ohio. I have received information and am considering Mexico but I thinkn going for all the fills will be expensive. I am not wealthy by any means but I have saved up some rainy day money and this is what I have choosen to do with it. Is there anyone from Ohio or the surrounding states?

Hi Kim and :welcome:

The only thing I know is that some folks that are banded in Mexico do find doctors in the states who will give them fills. You might want to check out http://www.lap-band.com/about.html to see if they can recommend a doctor in your area?

hi Kim i am from Western Pennsylvania and there is a local hospital in my area that does hundreds a year you can PM if you are interested!! Shannon

I don't know where in Ohio you live but there is an excellent Lap-Band surgeon in Cinncinati, Dr. Trace Curry. You might want to contact his office.

Dr. Trace Curry worked at our hospital for awhile and he is an excellent surgeon. One of our surgeons went to him for his banding. :)
