Post Your NSV's Here!

I thought that a thread dedicated to the NSV's (non-scale victories) we experience in our weight loss journies might be a good thing. I know I'm still stuck on this darn plateau and it helps me to remind myself of the little NSVs I've collected along the way. I figured it could also help people who are having problems and those who are just getting started.

Here are a few I've had so far:

1. Guys are starting to check me out! I'm so surprised when this happens, because I've become accustomed to being invisible to men. I'm thinking this may be due in part to my increasing self-confidence as much as it is to the weight loss.

2. I can lift way more weight than most of the skinny minnies at my gym.

3. I fit into my seat at the ROCKIES games!

4. My husband bought me a sweatshirt at the Denver Grand Prix this weekend that is a size large. I was sure it wouldn't fit and I'd have to exchange it for an XL, but it fits! It's even roomy.

So people, post, add your NSV's. It's not all about the scale you know!

Hey Chickadee!!!

I have been thinking of this post for a few days and have found it encouraging. My scale hasn't moved much this summer and I was getting a bit discouraged, but I kept coming back to this post and thinking about how my body has changed and how I have been feeling. I finally got the courage to measure my waist yesterday and although the scale hasn't moved downward much, I have lost 2 1/2 inches off my waist in about 7 weeks. I am walking 3 miles a day, I tried on a pair of Jones of New York size 16 jeans yesterday and they were baggie around the hips. I fit into the carnival rides this year ...don't think I like the twirlie wirlie bird ones...I thought I was gonna barf up those 3 cashews I ate  uhg.

I feel terrific. I am much happier and much more involved with the kidlets and I am even more involed ;) with dh. Even though I don't really want one, I am looking for a job....maybe...maybe not!

I am so glad you are doing so well, Chickadee!!!! Ain't life grand?....and how 'bout that USA softball team? Put me in coach...I'm ready to play!!!!

'got to run and rinse the gray right out of my hair.

love,
peach

Hi--My hubby told me today that he could clasp his hands together when he hugs me, that his hands didn't reach each other before...that is a NSV, isn't it??

Misty, I think that's a great NSV! Hopefully there's lots more hugging going on now - and all the things that go with hugging, if you know what I mean ;).

Peachiepoo, somehow I missed this post before. You are doing fabulously. You fit into carnival rides, which means you would be very comfortable flying out to Colorado and sitting in my seats at Coors Field. How fun would that be? In fact, I think Jif might need to share WLS board poster girl honors with you. I know, I know, big sisters don't like to share, but it must be done!
