ITS DONE!! Too late to change my mind now.

OK, I just got home from my laproscopic weight loss surgery. I hurt, I'm tired but I'll fill you in on a few things. A few quick facts as I am fading fast.

1. Instead of 6 - 1" incisions for the lap procedure, I have 5 - 1" holes and one 18" that starts under my left arm and ends at mu sternum. At 6'4" @ 410 lbs he couldn't get to it laproscopically.

2. Surgery scheduled for 1 1/2 hrs and took 4 1/2 due to my build inside. Woke up in recovery in pain and found out later that night someone set up the PCA with Demerall like he normally uses for lap procedure.

Finally got switched to Morphine with Toradol boost and pain was gone. YIPPEE

Transition to home I let them take the PCA BEFORE I took my Oxy so I almost immediately was behind the pain thing again. It is now 3 hours after taking my Oxy and am home fairly comfy in recliner. Think I will take a couple Norco (have to grind them up to fit through new hole) and see if that will help.

I'm on my way.

Thanks, I am surviving nicely. My problem is I also suffer from chronic pain due to 6 back surgeries and fusions. It is difficult even in normal times to control my pain. Add and 18" incision (is it growing? :) ) to the mix and it is tougher.

I'll survive.

Fwwling smaller by the minute :D

Congratulations and welcome to the losing side! I'm sorry they had to open you up, but you'll heal and be so thrilled with your new body that it won't matter.

Take care of yourself,
Chickadee
