to answer the question, Yes My weight loss has slowed down, but you must be aware It has bee near 3 years. I tell everyone that sucess varies for every person diferently, because we all have different circumstances. so measure yourself by yourself. not compare to others. I used to be depressed that I had not loss as much as some I would read about on boards and see on tv. Then I realized I am far better than I used to be and it is not over til I get where I want to be.
It has never been as easy for me to lose weight as it semed for others, and I have not figured it all out yet, but as I said I keeep in front of me how life was before my wls.
I could not hardly do anything I wanted to do and bathing, sleeping, wiping my butt was a challenge. I was dead, just had not quit breathing, and that was getting hard too.
I did expect that by now I would be much smaller, but I also remember that it has been years ince I was this weight.
Well I won't keep rattling will get to know you each and enjoy the forum

glad you're here cathy... and doing so well.

i went to caltrate's website, hoping that it was a calcium citrate, but it's not. it's calcium carbonate. you see, a person needs stomach acid to absorb the carbonate, and we don't have a whole lot of that. that's why the other forms of calcium are better.

LOVE your attitude... hope you'll stick around with us..

So, if you have to have calcium citrate because of the stomach acid thing, it would mean we LapBandits can still have calcium carbonate because of the difference in the surgeries, right?
Good news for us, ain't it VOW? Viactiv, here I come!

Calcium carbonate needs acid to work? Sheesh, chase the Viactiv with lemonade!

*dusting off hands*

Okay, problem solved!!

Hi all,

Jiffy (fellow night owl) I am almost afraid to ask but how did things work out last night with the sandwich that couldn't decide it it wanted to go up or down?? I was feeling sorry for you when I read your post. It must be a scary feeling when something feels like it is stuck.

Thanks again for the calcium citrate info. You should consider writing a book. I would buy it for sure!

Jiffypop tells all, does it have to be a WLS book?

POOKIE88 02-19-2004 05:58 PM

I'd like it to be a WLS book that INCLUDES all the infamous adventures of the 2 sisters. (Jif and Peach confess all etc etc) :o

jiffypop 02-19-2004 10:34 PM

oh lordy lordy lordy!!!! our other sister once suggested i write a book entitled 'the secret life of jiff!!!' YIKES!!!!

and pookie.. thank you for your concern. it took a little while, but it settled down. thank goodnes.. i couldn't lie down with it like that... it's not really scary [well, it was at first, because not onlky did i feel like i was dying, i actually wished that i would just die and get it over with!!!!!] but uncomfortable.
