I told my inlaws
and good thing I did, because I had a feeling if we didn't tell them, they would feel left out and upset. I was right!!! Mother in law called this afternoon asking what the surgery is and how long recovery time is.
I was glad she called, we haven't had the greatest relationship. What was your recovery time? How long were you on liquids after the surgery? |
purpleroses,
Did your motherin law think that wls was a good idea for you? I had the lap rny on August 11th of this year. My surgeon pushed me food wise quicker than any one else I have heard about. I was on clear liquids for 48 hours, full liquids for another 48 hours and then went on to soft and mushy foods. After one week he told me I could eat salad....I didn't do that until I was about 4-5 weeks out...I just didn't feel like eating it. Now I eat just about everything but if the meat/fish/chicken is too dry it tends to feel like it is getting stuck and it is uncomfortable. Follow YOUR doctor's orders unless they don't stress protein. I felt sore and tired for the first 3 weeks. I felt a little better every day. After 3 weeks I felt terrific and got some energy back. peach |

Jiffy,
Now that I'm finished laughing. No my MIL didn't offer any help. I told her that my mom took 3 weeks off of work to help with the kids and house. She said oh I wondered what you were going to do then asked about how long recovery was. My hubby did say there is a chance we wouldn't be down there for Thanksgiving it's an hour in a half drive. |
