VSG / Waiting To Get Approved
 

Hi everyone, I am new to 3fatchicks, but not new to weight loss. About 3 years ago I tried for weight loss surgery, while I was a good candidate my mental health deemed otherwise. I was denied due to having a specific mental illness, and because I was hospitalized within the year. Flash forward to now. I decided to give it another shot at wls. I saw the doctor, and psychologist last month, and they both decided they'd like to see me at least once a month for a year before they decide. I was crushed, but at least the psychologist didn't say no this time. I was wondering if anyone else has been in this situation before? Did you get approved after a year? How did you cope during the year, did you lose weight while waiting, etc? Thanks for any input!

Just following up in case anyone else was looking, I got approved this morning so it took about 7 business days. I have my pre-op scheduled Monday.
