Hello, new to the thread old to this change
Hello all! I thought I would introduce myself. I've been here for a while but I had left because nothing I did really worked, until now. I had WLS Gastric Bypass July 10th 2015. my HW was 324 my starting 6 month diet was 310 and surgery was 287 I am now 224! I am finally starting to enjoy being me! I grew up fat, my parents didn't know anything about nutrition. So i was given what ever junk food I wanted, combo that with a bad thyroid that was not diagnosed until I was 25 years old. I am very lucky to have an amazingly supportive Husband he was as big as I was and while on my 6 month pre op diet he did it with me, even the Liquid diet for the week before surgery! During that time he got down to 220lbs! At 1 month post op I got an almost fatal stricture, because it was left to it on devices for 4 weeks. we were switching insurance and while my surgeon was willing to do payments the hospital was not. once insurance kicked in after 4 weeks with out drink or food and living off ER IVs I had two egds to stretch it back out. Now I am doing amazing and so happy. I decided to have this surgery when my husband woke up crying in his sleep, I asked him what was wrong and he said he'd had a nightmare that I died of a heart attack and left him alone with our son. That night my mind was made up. And I have no regrets. Sorry for the novel just a bit about me!
