WLS Question

I'm scheduled for Gastric Sleeve on the 28th of this month. I just thought of a question I forgot to ask my doctor, but do the staples stay in forever or do they dissolve? What if a future medical crisis requires an MRI?

From what I understand of the VSG, the staples are there for life. Eventually, tissue will grow over them and should cause no issues.

They stay forever. Your scar tissue will grow over them, and they won't cause any issue. They are made with surgical grade titanium alloy and don't cause problems in an MRI (it's not magnetic.) :-)

fantastic, thanks for the reply guys! I started my pre-op soft foods diet today. Surgery on the 28th.
