Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I had WLS about a month ago (sleeve gastrectomy) and am having the same issue with the protein powder. hopefully some of these will work for me too! I am also having a problem finding one with the required amino acids etc. I wish there was a bar or something we could eat instead of yucky shakes!

I'm a fan of Target's own brand of whey isolate protein powder - chocolate. I also like Muscle Milk. If you want to branch out to more flavors, then I definitely recommend Celebrate as well as About Time (these last two are pricey - for About Time I use an affiliate/coupon code "injennsbag" to save 25%).
A lot of companies will send you free samples - just write to them (via email/contact form on their website) and ask!

I know a lot of people add a bit of sugar-free syrup or artificial sweetener to their protein shakes to make them more palatable; my mom, who is newly post-op, adds a banana and Stevia to hers. Personally I'm too lazy to go through all of that work I just mix my powder with my water and get it down and out of the way as quickly as possible, lol.

Many of the same companies who make protein powders also make bars! Off the top of my head: Premier Protein, Celebrate, Bariatric Advantage, Big Train, About Time, etc. Most of these bars have anywhere from 8g to 15g of protein, and come in all sorts of flavors. :)
