I'm 3 weeks post op (today!), and since having surgery, I've been an open book about it. I've had 4 friends come to me, asking for more information, and to help them get started on this WLS journey.

Makes me feel so good that I can be a source of information to them!

I was so worried about people being negative about me having WLS, but I've found nothing but support. So wonderful! I think a lot of the stigma of weight loss surgery is going away. Not completely, as there will always be nay-sayers, but it's becoming more socially "acceptable".

Kaleystar, first of all, congrats on your success so far in making a life-changing decision for your health. 😊 Like you, I'm open about my surgery, too. It does feel so good to help others by giving them info regarding WLS. You're right that it is becoming more socially accepted, especially since just about everyone knows someone who has had successful WLS, compared to even just a few years ago.
