Advise for pre lap band op
I'm 2 weeks away from my lap band surgery and I'm excited, nervous, emotional and a little terrified of surgery, but ready for it to happen.
I guess I am wondering if anyone out there has some solid advice so I can feel a little prepared before I head into surgery. Such as: 1. What to bring to the hospital 2. What to expect the days after surgery 3. What I can do to prepare for the first week post op. 4. What foods I can start preparing 5. Anything I should ask from my surgeon/ family doctor beforehand 6. How long other people took off work for the surgery thanks!! CG |
I had my surgery in February. Gas X strips are a must. I took reading material with me and some comfortable elastic waist pants. I had my surgery on a Friday and was back to work on Monday. Your surgeon should be able to give you a list of food. Walk as much as you can to work the gas out of your body. I had a lot of pain in my shoulders for several days because of the gas but i also had hernia repair too. My surgeon gave me anti nausea medicine to help and it also caused me to sleep. Good luck and keep us updated.
