saying hello

  • Hello everyone!!!!

I am currently 10 weeks post-op and wanted to introduce myself......

I'm Liz, I'm married and have three kids under the age of 5. Phew what a handful, but I love them dearly. My husband is in the military and I am currently a SAHM. I am planning on attending graduate school for the Spring 2004 semester. Fingers crossed.

Send me a message, I'd love to hear from you.
  • liz... ya don't get off that easily, just by asking us to send you a message!!!! come on, girlfriend, tell more!!!! post your profile!!! who did you surgery? how did it go? how are you feeling? any wls secrets to share? what's your support group like? do you know debk and hazel?

what does your family think about the surgery? how did your children handle it [assuming they noticed!]?
  • Hi Liz, I'm with Jiff.......spill.......we want to know more.

and Jiff, I think St Marys is close to Savannah, not close to Hazel and I at all. Liz, Hazel and I are in the burbs of Atlanta.
  • Ok, ok...you talked me into it. I had surgery in Brunswick, GA with Dr. Hederson on 4/21/2003. Dr. H only does Lap or open proximal and my insurance only paid for open - so there was no choice.

The heaviest weight I have ever been is 262 by my scale. At my initial consult I weighed 255 on the docs scale. I had a minor complication a few days after surgery. Possibly inflammation from a fluid collection - my diaphragm went into spasm and I had terribel pain. But two days in the hospital with oral antibiotics left me feeling better.

This has been a struggle for me but I've done it happily. I am losing weight I never thought I would. It's definitely been a learning process.

Ok, I'm exhausted I would be happy to go on and one but it's easier with specific questions. Thanks so much for popping in and saying hello. Here's to the losing side!
