Quitting smoking before surgery

I'm having a really hard time quitting smoking. Anyone have tips that helped them at all?

Have you tried the e-cigarettes, and gradually reduced the amount of nicotine? That worked for my son.

Chantix worked best for my mom, but it doesn't work for everyone. My dad tried it and he was one of those who had the side effect of extreme rage and aggression. Chantix can be expensive but I believe you can get the first 6 months free through the American Heart Association, plus they have a support system in place for participants.

The e-cigs might be another option, if those are available to you. However, they can be expensive too.

Good luck! I'm not a smoker, but my entire family was, so I know how tough it is to quit!
