Update/Feeling great

I got a new job at the end of Oct. Been there a month now. I had my three month check up. My iron level was high but my potassium was low. Over all I was/am doing well. Been released to a regular diet. I never did a drastic dip with my weight like most of my doctors other patients have done. I have had a pretty steady slope. Which I am quite happy with. Maybe I won't lose that much hair which I have noticed since I cut my hair short.

The WLS doctors scale is different than mine by 10-12lbs while my regular doctors scale is only 3lbs off. I don't know if its because I sit in a car for 2 hours for the WLS doc and my regular doc is 5 minutes away. I decided I will go by my own scale now that I won't see the WLS doc that often. My goal is 165-145. Anywhere in between those numbers I will be quite happy with.

When I started my new job my black jean pants were a size 24 (my blue jeans were a size 22 go figure...lol different brand) I tried on the 22's because my 24's button came apart. The 22's were tight but wearable. Every month I go through my closet and try on smaller pants. Get this...Out of 6 pairs of pants with one being a black jean pair all in size 20, four pairs fit just fine and the other two are almost able to button. My size 20 black pair fit and feel a lot better than the 22's. Those 22's still don't fit. lol

I can't believe how good it feels to even be in smaller pants. If I am right its been at least 7-8 years since I have worn these pants. I will have to look to see what my highest pants size was. I can't remember if they were a 24 or a 26(probably 26). I put them away so I would remember how far I have come.

With the new job I struggle to get my fluid intake in especially on the long 8 hour shifts. I have bought those quest bars to try since I worry about how much protein I am getting in on the days I work. Lately I have been eating cheese as a night time snack. Its on my list of foods I can eat. I am wondering if its going to be one of those foods I will have to watch how much I eat of it.

I am so happy I had the rny surgery. :carrot::carrot::carrot: I have a christmas goal of 230 and I think I might actually make it. :dizzy:

look at you GO!!!! congratulations!!!! go with what works. at your stage, i had a sticky note every day to track water and protein grams. my desk was COVERED with them!!!! but it helped. what other forms of protein are you eating? sometimes we have to get creative to make it work. but you can handle that.

you're doing a great job...

Thanks jiffy.
I am eating venison sausage (I shot the doe myself with my bow this hunting season, first time hunting. Froze my butt off too. lol) Venison sausage is a leaner meat than what you find in summer sausage and it was ok'ed by my dietician. Chili, chicken, beef, venison beef to. I have several different kinds of protein bars(target brand, quest, one from the wls doc office). I like the ones that have 20 grams. They make me feel fuller longer. I try to add protein powder to anything I might be baking. Like pumpkin bread mini muffins and even peanut butter cookies for the kids(I don't use sugar, I use splenda, the kids haven't even noticed the added protein). Cheese, yogurt(when I can stomach it, never really have liked it) I have some protein shots that the dietician told me about but I keep reading they don't give the right kind of protein we need. I take those rarely. I get a lot of recipe ideas from other rny'ers that have websites.

I haven't tried eggs since that first time when I threw them up. But I have been thinking of making devil eggs and see if I am able to tolerate them that way.

I try to drink a 16/20 ounce bottle of fluids before my first break while at work and another bottle after that break. It depends on how busy we are if I am able to take a drink. I am a cashier and we are not supposed to have any liquids near the cash registers but they made an exception for me. Same with my vitamins and calcium. Not supposed to eat at the register. I try to get the rest of my fluid intake when I am at home.
