Your BMI then and now

What was your BMI when you had the WLS? What is it now?
Mine is 35.7, and my goal is to be around 21.

caliyah 06-07-2010 11:18 AM

My BMI was 35.7 when I started although it's been higher in the past it's now 29.8 (overweight) and I'm aiming for around a BMI of 24 because I have a large frame..

UGh . . . I had to look it up to see what mine was before.
I"m shocked to say the least, that my BMI at the start was 42.6
Currently, I'm sitting at 33.
Im not really sure I will care too much about my ending BMI as I can't see how it accounts for muscle mass etc and I dont think I"'ll be comfortable being the 127 lbs reccomended for my height, so we'll see what happens

It was fun to look up! Surprisingly, it hurt a little to type in the 'Before' stats, and to see just how bad it really was! Even though it's been years since I was there... But!

Current BMI 21.5
Before BMI 59.6

Wow. Just wow.

missangelaks 06-08-2010 03:35 AM

before 47.4

now 28

I'M NOT CONSIDERED OBESE ANYMORE!!!!! WOOHOO!!

AND I was told because of my age I should be about 24-28.

hey not too shabby!

Spooky, please don't compare yourself to anybody else! The only person you are competing against is yourself. This journey is all yours to make the most of! Don't waste even one step of it comparing yourself to others.

And -- 6 weeks out -- you are doing JUST GREAT. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, it is just sometimes I can't believe how long I waited to get this done and how far I went in the wrong dirrection but I was over 400 10 years ago and I know I would not have been able to have this sugery then, emotionally, physically or anything else and I sure as heck would not have had this support group or the support of a great BF.
