Hi all!!
Im new to the site and oh so glad I found it. I went to an information session today for weight loss surgery. I am getting serious about it now. Still havent made up my mind completely. I am 5'9 and weigh 260. My ideal weight is 170-180 and have struggled for many years with no success. I am 32 years old and suffer from hypothyroidism so thats a huge obstacle in my way. I hope I can gain alot of insight and support from this site.:)

Welcome! If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

My first recommendation to anyone considering WLS is to make sure to research ALL the procedure options. Many people only ever know about the band and RNY gastric bypass, but there are others available (primarily the vertical sleeve gastrectomy and the duodenal switch).

Nice to meet you, Cali!!!! Jilly's right - be sure to explore ALL your options and research everything very thoroughly.

Who's your surgeon? how did you choose him/her???
