Talking Lessons From The Brunch Buffet

I went to an AMAZING Brunch buffet We had a gift cert $30 a head and indeed it was worth it.
James walked me around I snagged some illegal stuff and a lot of Kier friendly stuff Smoked Salmon Smoked Salmon with Dill the top of eggs benedict assorted italian meats, shrimp, and caviar
*pastry* cough
ok now at almost 2.5 years out I have the capacity to gorge or indeed eat "wash down" the food and eat again

DH sat me at the table with my plate and coffee. and went to get his. I was definitely hungry but I didn't want to be finished by the time he came back. So I ate very slow.
I took 1 bite of everything and slowly ate what appealed to my tastebuds
Now by no means did I come through with a standard stacked buffet plate (that's a waste of food)
I slowly ate and was comfortable and not full with half the food left on the plate. I pushed it away and sipped my coffee gingerly!
TBH I did get pastry when DH was ready to go up. and I had a few small things on a small plate I took the same approach I had a taste of everything on my plate and picked out the 1 thing I wanted to eat in entirety (a mini canolli to be porntastic)

So what did I learn that I'm applying?
1. Eat slow!
2. Taste what you're eating
3. Remember that your pouch is still small Make your eyes smaller!

I've felt very out of control for months. But sitting in this shmendy restaurant at a brunch buffet and not going crazy, That felt so good!

KO you wonderful girl you!!!! My hat is off to you! Your reward: A big diamond crown with the words "I beat back the devil!!!" LOL!!! Thank you for the pointers. Very seldom do I really taste what I eat, because I'm too busy talking or running around in the house and then wonder what I just ate and probably will be hungry in an hour!!

Up until yesterday I didn't do this so much except in the beginning when I went slow to avoid being sick.
It was my goal today to eat everything slow putting my utensils down or bag/bowl of whatever down in between bites. Its a totally strange way of eating. . .right now I'm having baby carrots and Turkey pepperoni (Sugar and salt) Baby carrots are really REALLy Sweet!
it's probably not a combination I'll repeat too often, but it's getting me over the hump slowly.
Surprise Surprise I do actually like the taste of cottage cheese!
and my veggie chili gave ppl Lunch envy today!
My weight is up a bit and I'm hoping the eating slow and conciously will help with the meltage.
So will the Tracking and the counting calories and the exercising.
Nan I think we're all pretty wonderful Girls!
Could I have a diamond encrust Bat too? that would definitely help quell the Snack Monsta!
ok back to work!

This made me laugh, my mom is a vegitarian... like since she was 6 years old and though she never forced us to eat that way she would not cook meat herself and so we ate a lot of stuff like cottage cheese.
Until recently the only way I could even try to eat it was on a slice of whole grain bread with peanut butter then cottage cheese on top. Only problem is lately peanut butter gives me horrible acid tummy and most really chunky whole grain bread (the kind I like) makes me gassy (this is pre surgery so kind of scary but I am trying to find and eliminate before surgery what effects me that way)
Anyway I am exercising and need to really up my protein and so I got a carton of the low fat kind and tried it with a little McCormick's Montreal Chicken lower salt seasoning..... YUMMYYYYYY, alone it still is not good to me but with a little seasoning I am enjoying it especially with a few saltines and a few slices of turkey.

I am trying to train myself to eat slower and less at one time, I have been getting rid of all my large white and light colored plates and stocking up on smaller black salad plates with just couple bigger black ones for guests as well as smaller black bowls and cups... this way I have a set and all but they are a color an mostly a size that is suppose to help you diet.

Spooky Try Parmesan Cheese and italian seasoning and maybe some grape tomatoes!
Also Get Kid sized utensils!
Baby bites are your friend
btw it could be the bread giving you gas
I can eat PB but not Peanuts lately and Chunky PB is EVIL!

I think baby bites are the spoons I have, do they come in a pack of like 12 and have longer handles? I love them and they are pretty sturdy and great for eating yoplait...LOL
I dont like baby forks but I am thinking of buying a set of cocktail forks but boy are they PRICEY.

I am sure it is the bread gassing me up, I am going to try a softer well ground whole wheat bread and see if that helps, I think they put too much filler in the other bread.

You have some great ideas
Thanks
