need help with insurance
 

I dont have any kind of insurance. but I would like to take out insurance that will cover lap band. How can I do this? I mean I cant just call and ask can I? what about Bluecross blueshield? IF IF I can even afford it. anybody have any suggestions here? Im beyond desperation

i moved your SOS out of the lap band thread so that others could see it more easily and respond to you. i'm hoping that someone will have some good ideas for you.

IN GENERAL, you can absolutely call them and ask! or go look on their websites. but be warned - it sounds like you're going for an individual policy, rather than a group policy [like you'd have if you were able to get insurance through your employer], and that means that there's often a 6-month 'pre-existing condition' clause. which essentially says that, if you go into the policy with some condition or other, they're not going to cover treatment for it for 6 months. and obesity counts here.
