Woohoo! a step down...finally!

  • I understand that plateaus are a part of this process but this one had become my nemesis! I was beginning to think I had lost all the weight I was going to...even though I have been follow the dr's guidelines...even though my calories, protein and exercise have been monitored...even though there really isn't any reason that I should stop losing weight...I was worried.

Well, that worry evaporated like so much milk this morning!!! For a long time everytime I stepped on the scale it said 267 or 265 or 266...This morning though it said 263!

    Woohoo

Whew! Now I can go back to my routine and forget about the plateau...OK, until the next one comes along!

    Thanks,

    Angela
  • Our Nemesis the Plateau!
I hate them!!!! Did I mention I hate them!!! LOL!! I too knew they were a part of losing weight, but for the love of God, WHY!!!

I'm glad you are on the move again. Do like I did and throw the darn scales in the back of the closet and weigh yourself when you go to the doctor. If my clothes don't keep getting bigger, then I'll know there is really something wrong. The scales have a seductive call to me...almost as bad as chocolate!!!! I try to remember when I plateau and am doing the food right and the exercise and my butt isn't getting smaller, my heart is getting stronger.
  • Yea you! Good luck!
  • Ohhh those blasted scales!!!

    Congrats on your loss!
  • puh-leaze!
my dear-you had surgery when-early last month, right? and you lost, what-30+ pounds since then? As an experienced dieter, I'm sure you've had very l-o-n-g and even more hopeless plateaus that have lasted longer than the time since your surgery. Your poor body probably just needed a break! Remember what you've no doubt heard countless times-it didn't go on overnight, it won't come off overnight. Even after WLS.

But I'm glad your plateau is over. You are a truly excellent example of following doctor's orders and using your new tool in the right way.

You have my permission to quote the first paragraph back to me if I complain about a plateau after my surgery!
  • You Go Girl !!!!
  • Angela,

    Congrats!
    You are on your way!
  • YEAH! What to go!
  • Awesome!! Way to go!!
