WLS and migraines
 

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who gets migraines and what their experience was the first few weeks after WLS.

As an experiment last year, I did a "water fast". Basically ate nothing for two days and kept drinking water. Surprisingly, I didn't get hungry and I did lose a few pounds. However, after two days I had a migraine that wouldn't quit. I went to the chirpractor, took Maxalt, etc. The only thing that worked was when I ate protein (a small, baked fish in this case) - the headache was gone within an hour.

So I just looked at the "liquid" list immediately following surgery. If protein shakes were allowed, I'd probably be okay, but that doesn't look like it's allowed until later.

Did you get a lot of headaches while on the liquid-only diet?
