hi,, glad your feelin better nancy... hope the sf popcycles helped some!!
my lifesaver so far has been good old boiled chicken and a sack of frozen veggies in the crock pot.. i cook it all day long and was pureeing it but now i can chew it and its been settling just fine, sure dont take much to fill me up though. ive been counting carbs for a long time so i try to keep them low. doctor thinks my lack of energy is my blood pressure to low, since ive lost some weight.. so have an appointment next week with him...
glad to hear from you Jiff, wandered how youd been. i agree with you, im pretty impatient and want to get back on the bandwagon to soon!! not use to sitting still... im doing reallly well , not many know i even had the surgery..
hope tomorrows a better day for all... especially in the california fire areas..... prayers go out for them....... carvinmom

here's a rule of thumb for right now, nancy: if there's more carb grams than protein grams DON'T EAT IT!!!!

but you're doing the most important thing right now: you're working REALLY HARD at figuring out what works for you and what doesn't!!! and that's what's gonna get you through this whole process.

while the NUT is correct that this is a 'healing' time, and not a time to lose weight, it's also a time when you're most sensitive to carbs - if eating the carbs makes you sick, you lose whatever protein you've eaten as well!!! and that's just completely counterproductive.

and one more note - if you want to print out this thread and take it with you to the doc, the Nut, the nurse, whoever, go right ahead!!!

Young Frankenstien quote: "It's ALIVE!"

Yes I'm alive! The following is a part of my blog over on Obesity Help:

"Octobr 31, 2007
Had my open RNY on 10/16/07. Had the worst case of "foamies" and immediately cursed myself for doing such a stupid thing as WLS. They lasted for six days. I am and will be on full liquids until November 8th. I"M SO SICK OF FULL LIQUIDS! Now that is out of my system. Am moving well, and trying to walk at least a fourth of a mile three times a day. My DDs take me shopping and my aim is not to buy, but walk every aisle, of the big department stores, or until I get hot and sweaty and have to sit down! I had my first check up today, and only problem really is, little infection in upper part of wound. When they give you an antibiotic called Cephalexin capsules and you decide to open it up and put in on pudding and you instantly smell "cat pee", well guess what....it is the medicine and it tastes just like it smells. Really hoping when I call the clinic tomorrow, they will be able to give it in liquid or pill form. I can eat about anything, but not Cephalexin or lima beans!! I'm down a total of 36 pound with my pre-surgery diet and two week weight loss. I can already tell a difference on my joints, flatted sweater bumps and not as winded. The sickest thing of all is, that I have grown fond of Profect bullets. Haven't tried them all, but they only smell a little weird, and only taste "not as" weird. Told you I can eat about anything!"

I haven't been on either website because I have had all these little annoying thing going on, besides eating, snacking, and drinking six times a day. I finally got over the foamies and had food for a couple of days and had then a small bowel illeus. Took a couple of days to work that out. Now I'm having trouble with milk!?! Almost all of the soups, recipes, yogarts are all milk based, except Nectars and Bullets, and trying to work through that.

My DH has survived me and went back to work Monday. Bless his poor overburdened heart. Grandkids are really wanting to come and stay with Nanny. I will have them this Friday and really looking forward to it. I haven't been able to read what has been going on here so hope you are all doing well.
We left for the Clinic today at six a.m. and I had breakfast, packed a bucket of water and Nectar, but by 11:30 was wozzy and needed food. My DH ran down to Panera and got me a small bowl of Chicken Noodle. Did you know that you drive on a super highway going 65, and strain hot chicken noodle through your teeth? About three or four sips, picked me up and I was so tempted to let a noodle or two through, but I didn't. Oh, had a headache and picked up some liquid Tylenol and took it on an empty stomach. Won't do that again. Got clammy and instantly sick to my stomach.

Sounds as if you're doing great. Yes, I've strained noodles through my teeth, beans from bean soup, whatever. Like you, I can eat almost anything but there's a time and place for it. BUT never going 65MPH down the road. hahaha
