Surgery risks
I heard that this surgery has a lot of risks and you may not be able to keep a lot of food down after having it. Is this true? Does anyone have any data as to the risks and how common they are?
|
Time to start your research.
Every surgery has a risk. Surgeries performed on obese people have higher risks then normal. Of death? Maybe 1 in 100 or 1 in 200 I believe. There are varying statistics. A good place to start research is obesityhelp.com Some people have trouble with certain foods, some people vomit certain foods or if they eat too much. Alot of people have reactions to sugar. If all your food is coming up again, then you have a stricture and you need a procedure and then your food will go down again. To have food come up constantly? Not normal at all. Do yourself a favour and research, research, research. Don't go by anything anyone tells you - other than actual people that have actually had surgery. There are too many myths and misconceptions about this surgery to actually believe second hand information. Good luck! Check out my webpage for my experiences.
