setting my realsitic goals

between now and dec 31st, these are my goals:

Exercise 4 times a week
-run 2x a week
- lift weights 3x a week

Practice yoga daily

Drink at least 32 oz of water a day

Take either one yoga or pilates class.

My goals will change monthly. My starting weight is 215, and I don't want to set a weight loss goal. I want to get healthy above all else.

Day 1

I got in a 30 min walk/run today. One of these days, (maybe tomorrow) I will go and clock my 1/4 mile time, and try to beat it. I wanted to try a mile, but i'm not in any shape for that right now.

although i didn't get any exercise in yesterday, i did make my water goal of 32 oz... actually, i got in 36 oz. so i'll take that! :carrot:

Hi dcapaulet, good on you for starting an exercise goal, have you goals for food and weight as well ?
Have you thought about trying the c25k plan to get into running with ?
I starting that myself and i'm so unfit, so I'm counting on this plan to help me back into running, it's been awhile :D .

i am actually on that program... i went running outside on friday, nothing too heavy, and my upper thighs hurt so much that i couldn't do it again today. when i heal, i will start again.

don't wait until all the pain has gone or you will be starting all over again, you can walk through the pain sometimes. As it lessens as your muscles warm up and lossen up.

I applaud your fitness goal!

Though you said your goal was to exercise 4x/week, but it sounds like you actually plan a lot more than that!!

dcapulet 11-27-2006 03:22 PM

i have to make a reasonable goal for myself, so when i exceed it, it still feels good.

i really want to be up to 5 days a week, but slow and steady. ;)

dcapulet 12-01-2006 03:32 PM

things have been super crazy for me. For the most part, i followed my eating plan this week, but got in NO exercise. I want to get some in tonight, and get back on the wagon so i can have a healthy weekend.:carrot:

today, i did 60 min at the gym, so i'm at 65/1000 for the month.

also, my husband and i had date night, which was dinner and a movie. i have to say we had a great time, and some BEAUTIFUL tiramisu.
