Default Desperately Seeking New Techniques

Help!!! I just started a new job and all of a sudden I don't have time to breathe. I don't have time to go to the gym and I need some suggestions so I don't get off track. Can somebody help a struggler out?

1) Vending machines are of the devil. Stay away!
2) Parking farther away from the building and taking stairs instead of the elevator may sound hokey, but it really does burn more calories and can also serve as a bit of cardio to keep you in shape. Just be consistent with it!
3) If you're in an office, keep healthy snacks at your desk so you aren't as tempted when others bring in goodies. Remind yourself that you may "deserve" a treat, but you deserve a healthy body MORE.
4) If someone needs an errand run and you have a spare five minutes, offer to do it for them--deliver a hard copy of something to someone in another area of the building, etc. This will not only give you a bit more exercise, it will keep you from getting burned-out by looking at the screen all day. (And it may earn you some brownie points too!) Obviously don't spend all your time running around, but getting up every hour or so is a good idea anyway.

Good luck!

I agree with Callystia's number one point especially. Pack your own food and track track track. You may feel that right now you are not in control of much but you can be in control of what goes into your mouth.
It'll make you feel smart and accomplished when the whirlwind is over.

I'm a stay at home mom now, but prior to kids and back in my skinny days, I would agree with the previous posts. Office's are notorious for the birthday cakes. Where I used to work every Friday was a treat day. The morning donuts that someone brings in EVERY day, the candy dish on someone's desk. It's all tempting. Just stay away from it all and tell yourself no snacks at work, no exceptions. Keep your water glass full ! People will be envious of your willpower!
Goodluck!
