bum issues

When I was my starting weight I had no problems. However now I have lost some I find it painful to sit on my bum or lay on my side. Its only when I sit on hard surfaces, like a wooden chair or concrete blocks. Understandably by bones would be nearer to my skin, but should they really hurt when i sit or lie on hard surfaces?

I don't know if it "should', but it does for me, too, and we're right around the same weight. I used to make jokes about having plenty of padding, but apparently I was telling the truth!

Last year I had a serious fall and bruised (or in some other way injured) my coccyx (the bone at the bottom of the spine). Google coccydinia (sp?) and see if it sounds like that is what you have... ouch!

I see you are doing Billy's Boot Camp, that might explain all that soreness.

Yes it gets all boney when you're skinny - but a small price to pay I feel!

I am not sore at all, its only when i sit on hard surfaces that it becomes a little uncomfortable

I noticed the same thing when I lost weight. I remember wrapping Christmas presents the first year, sitting on the hard wood floor. It hurt my butt! I ended up sitting on a yoga mat.

good, im glad its normal. Having not remembering the lat time I was this weight I wouldnt really have an recollection of it. I think last time I was this size I was at school.

yep, my bum is totally bony and it hurts to sit in the floor or on bleachers and such. I also noticed that my spine is bony and hurts to lie down in the bathtub. These were things that I don't remember hurting many eons ago when I was thin before. It does seem a small price to pay. I am currently sitting on a pillow in my computer chair while I type this.

It is a very small price to pay for being thin.

Please go get that checked out!!! It may (and most likely will) be nothing. But I had a friend who had pain in his coccyx and thought maybe he just sat hard one night and didn't remember. I told him to just go have it checked. He said his family kind of made fun of him for going to the doctor for something like that. He went in and he found out he had a small cyst on the bone and if he waited any longer it could have put pressure on his spinal cord (not good!) He had to have surgery the next day. He was thanking me over and over for telling me to go have it checked (I actually didn't even think of that as a possibility, I was thinking more he could get some pain meds)
If it doesn't go away like NOW, make an appointment!
Goodluck and feel better!!!! :)

you unintentionally made my day! i was at my friends house last night, sitting on her hardwood bedroom floor and after about 10 minutes i had to re-adjust myself because but butt literally hurt, like my buttbone. idk the scientific name for a buttbone, but it hurt. and at one point it cracked (like you crack your fingers) and i was like WHOA whats wrong with me? but with my weight loss, it must just be that my butt is shrinking. SWEET haha.

it appears to be something pretty common among weight losers? (haha sounds so mean "losers") :p
