Revision to today's plan: the broccoli and lima bean soup I had planned for lunch was vile :barf: . I managed to force half of it down and got a baked chicken breast without skin from the store for the rest of my lunch. The plus side is, the extra protein from the chicken has filled me up good.
Not sure what I'll be doing for lunch the rest of the week though, that soup is going in the bin soon as I get home . |
Sorry, I had to laugh - I can't imagine broccoli and LIMA BEAN soup being good! That sucks though that your lunch option isn't going to work for the week!! Good work getting the healthy chicken breast and not going for a less healthy, easier option! Flexibility when things go offplan is so important :)

yah me either, that just sounds soooo gross. I havent have lima beans in ages, but when I was little I remember hating them so much I swolled them whole.
|
You know, the recipe in the book just sounded so yummy! I love broccoli and lima beans and wasn't at all worried about how they would taste together. The problem, I believe, lay in the broth. The recipe called for 2 tbls of soy sauce in 4 liters of chicken broth with some seasoning and that was about it for the soup base. My god, I've not tasted anything that awful in a long time . Still, got to try new things!
I've got backup for the rest of the week: tuna salad. My pepper plants in the garden went nuts this week and I got 5 big green bell peppers off them and I've got a bag of romaine that I didn't use this weekend in the fridge. Ugh, broccoli and lima beans, never again! |
Live and learn...lol

Hi guys,
Glory directed me here because I'm a silly bear and posted for last week's monday. Do you guys eat the same thing every day all week??? |
Hi Holyteror! Nope, we eat all kinds of good things. In fact we look at each others foods for inspiration.
Usually someone starts the next days thread in the evening before or early that day. Is there a Tuesday thread yet? |

Lots of my days are similar, like glory said - if I buy some fruit I eat it everyday till its gone. I don't usually have a lot of left overs, my boyfriend and I usually cook just enough but if I buy some sandwitch meat or smoked salmon or something, it usually takes me a few days to finish it up.

as much as i try I still have a hard time cooking for 2. been married 7 years. so used to cooking for more than that. Hubby's not always home due to his job....i get bored on meals after a days worth of them....love soups and meatloaf but dang, more than 3 servings of beef stew or homemade chicken soup and i'm done! What I should do, when i fix yummy stuff, is to freeze half of it right away, in portion sizes. I started doing that with my salad dressings...portioned them out into little sauce cups from smart n final. works out ok but i get tired of what i've got. I need to go ahead and do it to the rest of my dressings, and mark the calories on the top.
if it weren't so hot i'd make soup or stew. Right now the devil's at the door asking to be let in cuz it's too hot outside LOLOL |
When we buy our meat, like a big thing of chicken, my bf takes it apart and puts two in a zip lock bag and we just freeze that. And its all stacked in the frezers and ready to go. We buy big packs of ground beef and cup it up into 4 smaller ones. We do eat a lot of processed foods as well, so lots of it is just the right amount for us.
