Dinner at Chili's... can I manage it?
Because my store (McDonald's) did quite well on its inspection last week, so they recieved money that they're going to use next week.
What are they going to use it on? Taking the crew that was there for the inspection out for dinner at Chili's. So, I looked on Chili's website for nutritional information... HOLY COW is that stuff high-cal! 1500-2000 calories a DISH seems to be the average. Some of the Guiltless Grill items seem to be a bit better. Any suggestions on ways I can have their chefs prepare my food so it's got less calories? I've decided that from today until Sunday, I'm going to cut back my calories by 100. On Monday, I'll cut them back by 250. Then on Tuesday (the day of the dinner), I'll eat light the whole day until it's time for Chili's. Wednesday I'll assess my eating and see if I need to cut back again. Does this sound like a good idea? Thanks, everyone :) |
Guiltless chicken sandwich sounds awesome. 500 calories for dinner is not bad at all. Skip the appetizers (especially the Awesome Blossom and booze) and it's a good meal out.

I second the guiltless chicken sandwich. It has a honey mustard type sauce on top that I liked. You get that, plus broccoli steamed with parmesean cheese, and a black bean soup that I thought was pretty good. Maybe eat something light before you go, or bring veggies in a bag that you can munch on while everyone else is eating chips / other appetizers. You can definitely find something there without having to break the (calorie) bank. :)

We go to Chili's frequently and I get the Guiltless Grill items all the time. I love the salmon! The black beans and steamed veggies that come with it -- yum!
Just go, get a Guiltless Grill plate, maybe a salad (but watch the soups) and you're great! |
How many calories do you normally allot yourself for dinner? I think that scaling back by 100 for a few days might be okay, but for more than a few days and more than 100 calories might set you up for a big binge at Chilis.

wyllenn: If you go there all the time, I know I can go there with no problems :D
MaryKate'sPillStash: I don't normally allot myself calories for any specific meal. I eat when I'm hungry and just try to stay under 1600 calories for the day. I normally stay between 1200-1600. One thing I've gotten relatively good at is NOT BINGEING. It's crazy. I used to binge all the time but have now learned how to control it. The good news is that I'm going in there, prepared for what's there. I know the calories in the stuff (I printed out the nutritional information), so I can just tell myself "Is one meal worth all the work it'll take to work it off?". It seems to always work. Thanks, though :D |
