What gives?

One week, no budge on the scale. 237 every single day. This morning, I'm 238.

My clothes are looser, my tummy's tighter, and I 'feel thinner.'

But it's going up!!!

Yes, it's just a number. But this is going to drive me up the wall. I've worked really hard, and no reinforcement from my little black box? :?:

if you are going to the gym, remember muscle weighs more than fat. and is smaller than the fat.

Scales, schmales!!! Get your satisfaction from the TAPE measure!!! That is where you will see your progress!

This happens to me a lot too. I like to take more stalk in how my clothes feel than what the scale says. It stays the same or varies by a lb. a lot of the time and it is frustrating. But, with all the exercise, I am still going down in inches and looking better so this is what matters.

Been there a zillion times...there right now! I have been going to It Figures 3 days a week, and walking 3 days a week for 2 1/2 months now, will be the end of this week. Except for last week. I was so frustrated I thought what is the point? I have lost one pound, gained it back and lost it and have been stuck here at 201 forever! It is killing me...I almost quit last week because on the days I go to It Figures (it's like Curves, or the same thing) I added a 1-2 mile walk to my day and still...WI Monday I am at 201. I have been told too that muscle weighs more than fat but come on...I am working my butt off, (well I wish I was) and it seems for nothing. But ya know what? It is for something...for my health. Sure I want to lose pounds instead of inches but it is all about me being healthy and so I go on. I refuse to give up when I've worked so hard. I may not have lost any weight, yet...but I know eventually it has to and will come off. So ignore the scales...if you know you are working out that's all that matters. Just keep on truckin' and eventually the scales will move downward.

This is exactly why you should not be paying much attention to the numbers on a scale but on how your clothes fit and your progress with the lifestyle changes you are making. Weight loss goes in a pattern. If you haven't tracked yours for at least 3 months, you don't know what your pattern will be. Usually your body does not lose pounds and inches at the same time. So when the scale stops, your body is acclimating to what what you are doing and the inches are changing.

All I can say is my scale has not budged below 183 for 2 weeks. Right now it is sitting at 185. It has been 185 everyday this week, and I KNOW I am doing everything right, food wise.

BUT--also in this 2 weeks, I had to buy a smaller belt, I fit into a pair of jeans I hadn't fit into in years, and I THREW AWAY a bra I paid $25.00 for 3 months ago because it kept, um - - um-- well, it just wouldn't, uh, ..Well, the boobage just wasn't there to fill it up any more and it looked realllllly stupid.:o (I don't know about you guys, but $25 is a LOT for me to pay for a bra, but it felt really good to put it in the trash).

I am the biggest slave to the scale there is, but I don't let it break my heart anymore. You can't! The scale is only one little part of the big picture.
