When you're sick...
I know its bad to get under 1200 calories in a day. Does this apply, though, when you're really sick? If I only get 500 or so (maybe less - thats if I'm feeling well enough to eat anything for dinner) today, is that ok? How long does it take to really mess up your metabolism? Is that something that happens in a day, or more over time?
I just hate to eat when I am NOT hungry (not even the teeniest bit) and where I feel like eating might make me even sicker. I'm getting plenty of fluids, though, but don't have any fluids with calories (gatorade, juice, etc) in my house and don't have near enough energy to go get anything, so I can't drink the calories I'm not getting through eating. ugh. I was fine until just at the end of my workout, then got doubled over in stomach pain and have been sick as a dog ever since. Just reassure me that I don't have to push food on my non-compliant stomach just to prevent my metabolism from going all screwy. |
When you are sick, just focus on taking care of yourself. If you're sick, your body probably doesn't want all that food anyway. Just eat what you can and don't worry yourself about metabolisms and all that.

Yah I wouldn't worry, if your not feeling well then don't eat you might just make it worse. But if you do eat maybe try something a little higher in calories, like a peanut butter sandwitch with extra peanut butter (or something, just an example).
