I saw a sign at the gym today that said to eat carbs before, during and after a workout. Does anybody do that??
If I have light hunger or a craving, exercising (mildly vigorous) usually kills that. There have been a few times after the gym (not always) that I have been really hungry after a workout (when I go before lunch or before dinner). Not always though. Interesting. |
Yep, sort of. I eat carbs before working out, either a Geo bar or a banana. And I try to have carbs after, usually pretty much the same as my pre workout snack. On a long run I have started eating jelly babies (about 10) and it makes a big difference to my energy levels. At the gym I usually have a carb exercise drink, if I am going to be doing high intensity cardio.
If I have worked hard, I am usually hungry about half an hour afterwards. If I have worked less hard, I'm not so hungry. Cardio makes me hungrier than weight training! We're all different so we're all going to react differently to exercise. |
