Just remember that it is way more painful to get into shape than to stay in shape. At least, for me it is.
DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!! |
For my exercise, I dance like fir a whole hour, and I burn TONS of calories just by having fun!

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to join curves? Are there a lot of machines that don't work the abdominals, I have had a lot of hernias? Just wanting to know if it would be worth my time and money.

They do have a machine that works your abs. You are seated and pull a resistance bar from side to side. You don't "have" to do any exercise that is uncomfortable. For instance, I have shin splints right now, so I'm avoiding the leg machines and concentrating on my upper body. You can go for a free trial run - they don't give you a 'hard sell' so it's worth a try to see if you like it. :) |
I get most of my exercise from dance classes, which ended before the school year ended. So I haven't really gotten much exercise in the past month. Plus I took a week vacation with family and a weekend with friends. I'm amazed that I didn't gain anything. At least summer dances start up this week!

They have two machines that focus on the abs. However, when someone has a problem with a muscle group, they either skip that machine, or simply stand behind it and do leg lifts or squats or something to keep moving/exercising. Usually, when you fill out your initial health questionnaire, they will go over this stuff with you and tell you which machines you need to avoid. And...each of them could be different on that. One Curves would not allow me to exercise at all without a doctor's note when I was pregnant. Another allowed me to exercise without a note, but would not allow me to use three of the machines. So I skipped around and doubled up on some in place of those three. A third Curves allowed me to do all of them...with the thought that I knew my body better than anyone else and as long as I was comfortable with it and not overdoing it... I liked that Curves. :D |
I have slacked off of exercise lately, but it is not because I'm bored but because my office changed my work hours. I used to get back home by 5 pm, which gave me plenty of time to go to the gym. Now, I don't get home until 6:30 most days, and that is really pushing it in terms of me getting a good workout and then getting home, having dinner and going to bed by 10pm. I leave the house by 6:15 in the morning, and I tried going to the gym before work, but I am just too stiff in the morning, and if I lose track of time then, I miss my bus into the city. My office does not have a gym I can go to during lunch, and I only get a half hour, so I just about have time to heat and eat my lunch (i.e., no time to go for a walk, which I have tried but was discouraged by the amount of exhaust from car, trucks and buses). I'll eventually figure something out, but I am really pissed at my manager for screwing me up like this.
