Jtjoray,
I can totally relate! I've been feeling a little of this lately. Just this morning I read an article in Experience Life Magazine that made me think about why I may be feeling this way. You can look it up online if you are interested. Just go to (www.lifetimefitness.com/magazine/) and look under Past Issue Archive, April 2006, the title of the article is Fitness Fixes, Your Body, Reframed. I don't know how to link you to it, sorry. Anyway, it is a great magazine and you can read the whole thing online. I find that looking at old photos reminds me just how far I have come. A picture is worth a thousand words or in this case aches, pains, sadness and a lot of denial. I don't want to go back. Like some of the others, I also get a kick out of trying on my biggest pair of jeans. I so want the picture where you stand in one leg of your old, fat pants. Lastly, I read as much as I can about the health benefits. I love The Owner's Manual by Micheal F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz. It is a great book that you can read over and over again to remind yourself of all the great changes you have made for your body. Trying to focus on health really helps me. You'll get through this! You've come so far already! Onederland awaits us!!! We're so close!! Good luck! |
I like the idea of looking at old pictures to remind me how I don't want to go back to that weight, but I also like to look at current photos (the more flattering ones!) to see how far I've come. It's weird, but looking at myself in the mirror, I don't see much change, but in photos I look a lot slimmer. :dizzy:
