You never know, you may lose weight anyway. I think healing eats up a lot of calories, almost like exercise. I lost about 10 lbs really fast after a car accident in early April. I think it was a combination of the pain killers making me not want to eat and the healing itself. Even off pain killers I was dead tired, so I know something was going on. It's not a fun way to lose, though.
Of course now after 6 weeks I've gained some of it back because exercise hasn't been an option. I've started walking again to try to get myself back into the loss scheme.
If you feel like you can do something, anything, then do it unless your doctor specifically forbid it. If using light weights doesn't hurt, then go for it! Good luck to you.
