Well, they were 'sort' of pets, but not really. We were just taking care of them until they were old enough to be let go. They were characters, though. Squirrels are actually quite bondable to humans. Baby, the little one, used to curl up under my chin and take a nap with me on the couch. Spaz, she pretty much just ran everywhere and wasn't as attached to us as Baby was. Tom kicked himself for leaving the toilet seat up. Spaz got in there and simply couldn't get back out and after a while of struggling, you're gonna get tired.

Ok I could not stand it so I have to tell my rat story. I have put the email that my boss sent to the plant manager....I was the one driver...

It has been brought to my attention that we have a serious mouse problem. Especially in the returns area. Our little four legged friends have gotten into the returns desk drawers and eaten Janet's crackers she keeps for nausea. This was the 1st occurrence and some mornings Janet really needs the crackers!!!

The second occurrence, Janet had her lunch in Tupperware containers inside zip lock bags stored in the desk drawer. Janet rode with another employee to McDonalds at lunch and noticed that her zip lock bag "moved"..... Needless to say, so did she. The mouse had chewed his way into the bag. She had the driver stop the car, go around to the passenger side and take the bag out of her lap, and they left the lunch, tupperware, zip lock bag & mouse in the parking lot of McDonalds.

Is there something we can put in the desk drawers to keep the mice out? They're chewing paper too!!

Thanks,
Pickle

I was the next person in line in the drive thru and the rat was doing laps inside of the bag...My friend Janet was about in the first stages of haveing her son at the time so she was not about to run...that left it up to me to as she said "GET IT OUT OF HERE!!!!" After it was all over we had a good time with telling everybody.

I hope this makes feel better!!!!! I know reading all the other storys has made my day!!!

Holy mackeral! After Janet took all those precautions and then to have the blasted thing right there on her LAP???

I'm surprise she didn't go into labor right then and there!

Love the name Pickle, by the way :).

I feel your pain. :( I really don't like it when animals die in my house, especially if I took the time to care for it.

I just can't kill an animal.

I remember one time I was at a friend's house and noticed a mouse with its tail stuck in a trap she had laid, trying to get free. I was like, "get the mouse out of there, you're just going to leave it there to die an agonizing death???"

She said she didn't care. Well I did. I got the mouse out of the trap.

Ick.

Persoanlly, I couldn't care less if it was taken out alive or dead. I just want it OUT. YESTERDAY!

Animals of any sort in my house... ick.

Hehe sorry, pet-lovers, I just can't do animals in my house. Your house? Fine and dandy but not in MY house :).

Do you know to this day I still avoid stepping on them?

If I find a spider in the house, I'll pick it up and take it outside. Unless it's a sac spider. I hate those things and they bite. They're also venomous and some people bitten by them have had reactions. I don't want them crawling on me in the middle of the night.

Mice, luckily we don't have a problem with them. Because as 'cute' as they are, I agree, I wouldn't want them in my house spreading germs around. I found one my in my apartment years ago and trapped it and took it to a field.

I need coffee and there is a spider dangling close to the coffee pot,,,meaning I won't be going for any coffee.

I work for a large company and the president ws walking by my desk (reception) when he WOW thats a huge spider... like a cartoon book,,,,you could of seen swoosh as I flew by. I was down the hall peaking around the corner... He killed it for me with my box of kleenex. Which I then went and exchanged with someone who already left for the long weekend....lol I don't get a long weekend...so my revenge for his snickering as he left.
