As they say, "great minds think alike"! Both of Wyllen's posts took the words right out of my mouth. ;)

I've read that it's similar to why we lose weight when we up our exercise routine -- increasing the time or the intensity, etc. Basically, your body has become used to what you're eating on this WOL, and when you consume more calories than normal, it throws the body off (poses a new challenge) -- and it will think for a minute that it's NOT in survival mode and it will let go of some of that fat. It's all about keeping your body guessing, whether it's with exercise, diet, etc. You could even have ONE entire cheat-filled day and eat perfectly clean the other 6 and still lose. Many diets are based on that concept. I've had my biggest diet successes on those plans, so there's definitely something to it.

I applaud you for being able to get back on the wagon after a "planned" big meal, but I am too weak and use it to turn into a binge week and then it's an excuse to quit altogether. I am too weak at this point to even start, because I don't have the control to stop. What works for some, doesn't work for all (unfortunately!!!)

this kinda reminds me of the idiots proof diet. It says if you eat a whole lot for a few days, your body gets used to burning alot of calories, then when you go back to eating a little amount of calories, it will burn off those calories
personally, i think the IPD is bull but they might be right about some things |
I was talking to a fellow dieter onthe same trip with me and she told me that she heard about the diet where you diet for two weeks and then go off the diet fot two weeks.
Anyone hear about this? don't sound like a good idea to me.. though the one great meal a week sure does. |
LLV, you are SOOOOO right! I couldn't do it if I didn't have Sunday's!
