and thank you very much for the suggestion! I am almost willing to try anything. I mean it has only been 20 days with no loss and that isn't a big deal I guess. I am just frustrated. I am very happy I am not gaining but I should be losing.

Breakfast - half a cantaloupe, 1 cup yogurt

Lunch - black beans, pinto beans, low fat cheese, orange

Dinner - lean turkey sandwich on whole wheat, salad, strawberries

Snack - protein smoothie, apple with 1 tbsp peanut butter

Workout - 30 minute lifting circuit

I've been lambasted for this before but ... while lots of folks will tell you that it MAY be harmful to eat TOO much protein, there's little documentation on how much is too much. I have seen no evidence that there is anything wrong with eating 1 gm per pound of ideal weight and those who seek to build muscle eat more than that. Lots of reputable resources talk about 40% of calories from protein. Lots of folks here do it.

so if I wanna weigh 130 I should have 130 grams of protien?

Glory87 04-26-2006 03:54 PM

I kind of go by percentages and grams. My goal is 100 grams of protein a day and that usually works out to about 30% of my daily intake. (40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% healthy fats).

Protein is wonderful for weight loss because it is extremely satisfying and will help you stay full. I try to eat protein at every meal (including snacks).

Some good sources:

eggs
fish (salmon, tuna, shrimp)
lean meat (turkey breast without skin)
soy and veggie products (love Morning Star Farm veggie crumbles to cook with)
low fat dairy
Nuts (high in fat, high calories, although they are very very very good for you, I keep an eye on portion size - 1/4 oz)
Grains - quinoa is a good vegetable source of protein

Okay so my average percent for the last two weeks is:

18% fat, 55% carbs, 26% protien

So I want to lower carbs and make fat and protien higher. I will work on that :)

I say that I TRY for 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20 % fats but in real life :D for the last two weeks mine is 31P/ 44C/ 25F which is 112 gms of protein per day.

How did everyone's day go?

So I know whats for dinner now:
Chicken Breast baked in shake and bake; noodles (side kicks); and mixed frozen veggies

Not really a super healthier dinner but my calories will be high today (a bad high tho I guess)! wooo!

I have three words for how my day has gone. Well, yesterday too actually.
Oink oink oink!
Guess I failed to plan. Actually, I did.
