Default My B-Day goal

I've decided to set a birthday goal for myself. I'll be 45 on June 9th. What is a realistic weight loss goal? I seem to always set unrealistic goals and never attain them. Sure would like to see something positive at old "45"!

Instead of a weight loss goal, how about an exercise goal or some other goal YOU control? I think the problem with weight loss goals is that we do not control the scales, and a lot of the ups and downs are at their whim. I think sometimes people quit, even though you're doing everything right, because the scale doesn't cooperate...

something to think about..

I don't do weight loss goals either. I've learned in the past that setting goals can only set yourself up for disappointment. I'm not saying that nobody ever MAKES their goals. But if you don't, you'll only be bummed out about it. And pushing yourself to make the goal can drive you crazy.

Just take one day at a time. And be real with yourself

I set myself a birthday goal that I can't make. And I am doing everything right and they are right - it is upsetting. But if you KNOW that it wont make you quit that do whatever you feel best. I will never give up my new lifestyle. I feel so much better. I would like to make my goal but I can deal with it if I dont. I think I might even change it to something a bit more realistic (it was realistic when I set it, lol).

I set myself a birthday goal. My birthday is September 26th. I'd like to be down to 180 by then. If I dont make it oh well. But setting goals for myself is what keeps me going. My goal that I started in Jan was to lose 50 pounds by June and so far I only have 4 more pounds to go. I dont like to fail. But if I do oh-well. Im still more healthy then I was when I started the goal.
