Health Problems ~

I had to go get bloodwork done today. I've had problems with excessive thirst. The last time I had the test done everything was normal. But they are retesting now and focusing on sugar and thyroid. I hope and pray I don't have full on diabetes. If anything, pre-diabetes would be better because I can fight it off with exercise and diet. I won't get results til Monday.

I have struggled with losing weight ever since my kids were born. Wasn't overweight before that. I am constantly gaining a few pounds + every year or so. My all time high keeps growing, currently the weight I am at.

I walked/ran one mile on the treadmill today. Did okay with eating. My kids had a free birthday meal at Bob Evans so I took them out for lunch. I ate chicken noodle soup and a salad.

I know that it has now become more than a weight issue. It is now affecting my health.

your health is the most important. Unregulated levels of sodium can cause exsessive thirst which is why they are checking your thyroid because it controls the amount of sodium among other things in the lymbic system. You might want to see if your diet is high in sodium that could be whats causing it, and hopefully nothing else.Good for you on the treadmill , you will get there, and I hoep everything turns out okay with the tests. I ll be thinking of you.

Both of my grandmother's have thyroid problems. An uncle has diabetes.

My mother, and both grandma's have/had thyroid problems. My grandpa was a diabetic and I have an uncle that is an insulin dependent diabetic. So far I've not had a problem with either, but I have been tested for both.

Let us know what your results are, and hang in there.

Not all is lost honey, hang in there. I pray everything is fine, however if you do have type 2 diabetes (I am assuming that would be your diagnosis since you are an adult) that can be almost COMPLETELY reversable with diet and excersise. I know no one wants that and I pray you are fine, but the bright side is (if you do have it) that many people have been able to completely go off medication when controlling their diet and exersise, and you seem to be on your way.

I don't know what thyroid issues may cause excessive thirst, maybe hyperthyroidism? I have hypo which makes it easier to gain weight, less energy, dry skin etc...and I just take a teeny pill a day.

Good luck and I pray you are completely healthy and fine!

Thank you for your kind messages. I am still sitting on pins and needles waiting to find out. Walked on the treadmill again today but my diet was way off. I ate 2 candy bars! It is so hard when everyone else is eating them too.

I got my results today! Everything was completely normal!! I am so relieved! I think this is just a warning that I need to get this weight off and make my life healthy.
