help! can't stop eating at night!

I have a majorly bad habit of eating at night. I do fine during the day and watch what I eat. But when night time comes and I have trouble getting to sleep, I tend to get up and eat. Last night I ate raisens, mango candy and a spoonful of honey. As you can see, I have a problem craving sweets. if I could only stop eating at night, I would lose weight so much faster, or at least stop gaining weight. SInce I don't eat much during the day, i am hungry at night, and sometimes being hungry keeps me awake. I am trying to drink more water, today I drink more than 8 glasses of water. I feel sort of bloated and full from all of that water. Drinking water at night causes me to go to the bathroom more often, keeping me awake. What can I do to stop eating at night? Is it just a matter of discipline? Should I eat more during the day time, make sure I get a good supper so I'm not hungry at bed time? Please give me advice and help.

Eating more during the day never stopped me from eating at night. So I go ahead and eat at night, I just make sure that whatever I have is counted in with my calories for the day.

I eat late night EVERY night.

I eat just about ever night too... but it is popcorn or an apple, etc. But I DO make sure I balance my meals during the day.

My husband gets home from work at 11:30PM and he is hungry when he gets here. I have had a major problem with wanting to eat with him late at night. I now save a few of my carbs for this late night eating, knowing that I will be tempted. I usually have a slice of lean roast beef and a piece of string cheese. All the while, watching him eat a sandwich, nachos or slices of pizza. He also wakes every night and has cookies and milk, I just ignore him at this time. lol. I read on here today to drink 1 oz. water for each 1/2 lb. of body weight. So, I started this today. yeah, 80 oz. of water daily instead of 64, I can't stay out of bathroom. I feel so full, I can't hardly eat, maybe that's the point. lol

Personally I think the worse thing you can do is deny yourself. I will have those hunger spells sometimes at night.

I think you should find away where you can rig your diet to have a little bit of open space at night to An apple, small salad, bag 100 calorie popcorn, 1 pack of 100 calorie pack of your favorite pack or Right Bites.

Tonight for me I had sliced me up a Kiwi (I am fascinated with this fruit I have no idea why I like it) with a tangerine (I am fascinated how you can pull the tangerine apart in little wedges and they are so sweet)
