Really Bad Week!

It has been a really bad week for me :( . It all started Tuesday with my weekly weigh in. I stepped on the scale Tuesday morning and discovered that I didn't loose anything for the third week in a row  . Now I have been eathing healthy and counting calories for the last month (4 weeks) and I started at 153 lbs. After the first week I weighed 150. Good loss huh? Well the next week, and the next week, and the next week I still weigh 150 lbs. I don't get it!:stress: Well I was quite depressed on Tuesday, and thought that If I'm not losing any weight, then why am I putting my self through this? I generally stay between 153 and 150 anyway when I just eat what ever I want to.

I proceeded to eat TERRIBLE things  . I won't even horrify you with the details. Well I take Protonix (a pill everday for acid reflux). This usually keeps my tummy happy and feeling good. But, my tummy has not been happy since this afternoon and I have terrible heartburn :flame: this evening. I think my stomach got used to healthier choices and really doesn't care for hot sause and grease . Therefore, I'm going to get back to my healthy, calorie counting self tomorrow. :^:

Anyway, I have been reading post the last couple of days (3FC is addicting in itself) and I think that maybe I need to raise my calories a little. I'm 50 years old, 5'2", 150 lbs. I have been eating around 1200- 1300 calories a day and I wonder if because of my age (metablolism slows down) and at that low of calories that maybe my body thinks its starving and I would do better to up the calories by 100-200 calories a day. I actually have upped my calories (by way to much :cbg: ) the last few days, and I weighed myself today and I still weigh 150 lbs.

What do you think?

Hey there,

I hit the same brick wall that you are hitting. I didn't change my calorie intake as much as I did my workout.
I didn't change it alot I hate workingout its my beggest weakness! But what I did is go from walking the tredmill 45 mins a day to 1 hr a day. the first day after there was no result but on the second day I lost 2 1/2 lbs. I was so happy to finnally get off 190 that I could have hugged that scale.
Don't give up as discouraging as it is you will get past it!
Good luck

I haven't had a very good week either. Tuesday I had to put down my dog (old and sick with heart disease and kidney failure) and I've just been in the clouds. And eating stupid stuff. And not caring.

I haven't moved [up] on the scale yet, but if I keep this up, I will.

Depression sucks.

Thanks for your support guys. I am going to try to excersie more. I think it will help my mood too.

I'm sorry to hear about you dog, Linda. It's hard to lose a pet.

Well I'm going to get back on track today. Lots of housecleaning to do so I better get going.

Thanks again.

Hey girl! I've been in your shoes too, I think alot of us here have.. Just a word of advice - DONT GIVE UP (I know you've heard this before..) But take me for example: I lost around 30 pds at one point, and I hit my plateau and didn't lose anything anymore. I had the same attitude as you, why am I doing this if I'm not going to lose any weight? So, I proceeded to eat anything, anytime.. and here I am, 60 pounds heavier than before, and trying to lose 100 now. DONT DO THIS. You're going to his the plateau at some point. What is it that you're eating? You can eat 1200-1300 calories a day, but if you'r eating the 'wrong' things, you won't notice a weight change..
Feel free to PM me if you ever need anything.. Take Care

Thanks, guys.

And abbyin, don't worry, we all hit brick walls once in a while. The important thing is to learn how to tear them down.
